Active Incidents
The NASA Land, Atmosphere Near Real-Time Capability for EOS (LANCE) Fire Information for Resource Management System (FIRMS) US/Canada is a joint effort with the U.S. Forest Service that provides near real-time satellite-derived active fire and hotspot data to support strategic wildfire management and inform the public across the United States and Canada. It leverages satellite data and tools from NASA’s Earth Observing System to show the location and intensity of fire activity.
The CAL FIRE Active Incidents webpage is the official, public-facing source for up-to-date information on major emergencies in California, primarily focusing on wildfires of 10 acres or greater within the state’s jurisdiction. It provides an interactive map and detailed reports with current data on incident location, perimeter, containment, and relevant evacuation status.
InciWeb is an interagency all-risk incident information management system that serves as a single, comprehensive source for official news, maps, and other public safety information regarding active wildfires, prescribed burns, and other emergencies, primarily in the United States. It provides a standardized platform for sharing updates from federal, state, and local agencies to the public.
